NXP i.MX8M Mini Carrier Board

IMX8MM Kit

Carrier board for i.MX8M Mini

The SSOM-i.MX8MM-Chinchilla has the same signals as the NXP standard i.MX8M Mini SoM. This allows it to use the i.MX 8M Mini EVKB carrier board directly and be compatible with the NXP standard i.MX8M Mini SoM. Since the SSOM-i.MX8MM-Chinchilla is smaller than the NXP standard i.MX8M Mini SoM, an adapter is provided between the SSOM-i.MX8MM-Chinchilla and the carrier board. Maintaining this compatibility provides significant added value for developers.

This platform offers comprehensive evaluation of the i.MX 8M Mini and i.MX 8M Mini Lite application processors. It combines high performance with power efficiency, providing multimedia interfaces and built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity. The adapter between the SSOM-i.MX8MM-Chinchilla and the carrier board allows existing development environments and tools to be used as they are, reducing new learning costs and implementation costs, and enabling rapid project start-up. Additionally, since it uses the same signals, existing software and firmware can be easily migrated, significantly shortening prototyping time. This reduces time-to-market and enhances competitive advantage.

The carrier board is compatible with the i.MX 8M Mini, allowing the appropriate processor to be selected according to the application. It comes with standard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, enabling quick network connections, and is equipped with multimedia interfaces to support high-performance media processing applications.

The system on module (SoM) is a proven compact reference for rapidly advancing unique designs. By combining the SoM and the carrier board, it is easy to transition from prototyping to productization. This enables rapid and efficient scaling during mass production. Furthermore, compatibility with NXP's standard toolchains and development environments allows maximum utilization of existing software assets and development workflows. This results in more efficient development processes and cost savings.
